Developing new markets requires expanding networks, identifying novel technologies, creating new collaborations and value chains. MIFBI leverages their global connections to build an event with diverse geographic and sector representation including numerous states and countries, as well as the breadth of the forestry industry and broad markets including biofuel, chemical, furniture, automotive, energy and other sectors. 

Purpose

To build global commercialization bridges across sectors to realize the value of wood residuals for a profitable and sustainable economy.

Objectives

• Identify challenges facing wood residual market development
• Explore commercialization strategies with industry leaders
• Evaluate lessons learned from current and previous ventures
• Build a global network to accelerate technology transfer and commercialization of wood residuals

• Forest industry mills and manufacturers that generate mill residuals (wood chips, sawdust, and its derivatives) 

• Companies that use (or could use) these materials in higher value products include chemicals, packaging, furniture, cosmetic & personal care products, building products, and more.
