Our mission is to catalyze innovation and use of materials
from forests
for a healthy economy and environment.

Our vision is a carbon-neutral Michigan, advanced by a
sustainable forest economy.

MIFBI began as an initiative in 2013 driven by Michigan Technological University, and formally became a 501(c)(3) organization in 2016 with a diverse board including state agencies, universities, and other private and non-profit institutions.

MIFBI promotes utilization of forest materials by convening stakeholders and incubating collaboration across sectors.

We have a great future ahead with Michigan's Forest Biomaterials.
